Last Weeks of September

It's been a hectic couple of weeks down here, hence the lack of posts.

Last week, I decided at the very last minute to go to my mom's opening in New York (bought my ticket Monday at 5 PM, had a flight Tuesday 6 AM), so I flew up for 24 hours, only missing three classes and I got back by 10 am on Wednesday (thank god for the time difference). I was so happy to be there for the opening, the work was potent and looked amazing and I got to see my family, so it was worth it even though I only got about 2 hours of sleep. Also, I'm pretty sure I saw Roger Federer in the lobby of the Carlyle Hotel (where he stays during the US Open) and since you all I know the main reason I'm dating E is because of the resemblance, you can only imagine how excited I was to see the real thing!

After that, the week was much less exciting since I had to work pretty hard to make up for the lost time but I found out that I got into a free legal clinic where law students volunteer, which should be great practical experience.

We also threw our first dinner party for a friend who was turned 24, so we cooked pretty much everything we know how to make--a shout out to SF for an amazing cake (and for being a loyal EAVITBE follower)--then went to a very New York-type bar nearby: a great night but followed by a very unproductive day. All in all, it was a great week and a half--until all the activity made both E and me sick (he says I got him sick but it's a lie.)

Here are pictures of me prepping for the dinner and the birthday girl blowing out the candles. I will try to get some pictures from the opening, definitely look into it if you're going to New York anytime soon.
